Cough it up, Dale
Michael Brodkorb continues to report on the case of the two missing Lakeville girls, Samantha and Gianna Rucki. As first reported in the Strib by Brandon Stahl, a warrant for the arrest of the girls’ mother, Sandra Grazzini-Rucki, was issued about ten days ago. As of this writing, she hasn’t been arrested and she has not surrendered to police, even though her attorney, Michelle MacDonald, said last week that she’d probably surrender herself before that week was out.
Brodkorb recently spoke to Dale Nathan, a suspended attorney who had been helping Grazzini-Rucki, sub rosa, and who admits participating with Grazzini-Rucki in the disappearance of the girls from their home in April 2013; Nathan said this about news that Grazzini-Rucki had been charged with the girls’ disappearance:
“I am sure [Grazzini-Rucki] knows where [the missing girls] are” said Nathan, adding Grazzini-Rucki “was involved” in the girls’ disappearance and has “hidden them some place,” said Nathan.
Nathan said he believes Grazzini-Rucki eventually brought the girls to the St. Cloud area, where Grazzini-Rucki and the girls stayed in the days following their disappearance. Nathan said he is in possession of emails which identify people in the St. Cloud area that helped hide both Grazzini-Rucki and her two missing daughters in 2013.
“I think that these people may have some information about what happened then and possibly some information about where Sandra is now,” said Nathan.
In response to a request to review the emails, Nathan declined, saying “I am not going to release that information…I am not going to betray these people for helping Sandra.” The emails, said Nathan, “are going to stay right in my machine as far as I am concerned.”
I don’t know if law enforcement officials have sought the “emails which identify people in the St. Cloud area that helped hide both Grazzini-Rucki and her two missing daughters in 2013,” but if not, they ought to, toot sweet. The people on the list are aiders and abettors to the crimes that Sandra Grazzini-Rucki is charged with: hiding children to defeat the parental rights of another.
And the thing is, these documents have already been requested by David Rucki’s (Sandra’s former husband) attorney, Lisa Elliott, in a subpoena duces tecum, issued in connection with Nathan’s deposition taken on June 24th of this year.
Nathan has admitted these documents exist. Destruction of them now would be a serious matter, both civilly and criminally.
